Splashing around on a Sunday

One of the outdoor sport that I've done in the past growing up, when you get sent off to scouts by your parents, or dragged along on a school trip to sit in a wet kayak floating on a stale pond! Or maybe that was just the pond local to us! My early experiences with kayaking not being good, all be it fun but wet and a bit soggy! In the last year I have been kayaking not very often. But on the odd occasion that I have been has been in a nice warm indoor swimming pool, a far cry from my very early days with the scouts and school trips!

The reason for the recent trips has been mainly due to one of my friends Adam, who for most of the year is in the south of France teaching kayaking and climbing!(its alright for some!) On the odd occasion at the pool he has spent a little time trying to teach me to roll, which I got very close but never really went often enough to practice and learn it!

So this leads to the video or my first time kayaking in moving water. I was faced with my first challenge getting in to the water, this was very different from getting to the pool, this was about a meter drop off a concrete ledge into the river below! I was then faced with a weir which I did make it down the weir to my surprise on my first time only managing to capsize when getting over confident turning round in the moving water!

The rest of the video as some footage of Mr learning to turn around in the moving water and then at the end getting into the surfing on the weir. And quite a bit of Adam playing in the water and in the surf!
